Mike Huckabee believes that the only laws we need are the Ten Commandments. He believes that if we are a moral people, we do not need laws to guide us.
I agree. First thing I think he need to do away with is all those usury laws. I am a good business woman. And I promise *wink* *wink* not to take advantage of underprivileged undereducated people in my business dealings.
I also think we need to eradicate all those EPA laws. I promise not to pollute that river in back of my chemical factory. You honestly don’t need to check up on me. Don’t bother taking water samples. It’s not necessary. Cross my heart.
And we really need to do away with all those IRS regulations. I promise I will truthfully report my income and pay my fare share. I won’t take money and squirrel it away from the government’s prying eyes in off shore accounts. I swear.
Finally there is no need for labor laws. I won’t use child labor or not pay my employees for overtime. I mean if you can trust Wal-Mart, you can certainly trust me. Look, no one ever complains. At least no one has complained since Sally Withers was “let go” after she made too much of a fuss about working conditions.
Mike Huckabee is right. We just need ten simples laws. For all the rest we are on the honor system.
Except for abortion and gays.
