Flooding in Metro Manila

IMG_2848-360x270Typhoon Ondoy has been ravaging Metro Manila, flooding streets, submerging houses, and displacing many families.

The category 2 typhoon is bringing unprecedented rains to the capital region, causing the worst metro flooding in a century.

Traffic is paralyzed throughout the region, as lower lying areas are inundated from the downpours.

Many domestic flights have been cancelled because of the storm.

Water levels continue to rise as several dams have begun to breach.

From my vantage point in New Manila, I can see cars and houses submerged in this subdivision of Quezon City.

The storm appears to be passing, but waters will continue to rise throughout the evening.
